For news about the new Dulli project Uptown Lights, go to http://www.myspace.com/uptownlights. The band plays in the Club Spaceland next month, and hopes are high!

I did some work here and there, on the Staggering Statistics (John Curley's band) discography for instance. Great band, check it out!

More to come.

2005    January 7    news

Happy New Year, y'all.

Greg Dulli will be performing with The Section on January 27 at The Echo in Los Angeles, CA. The Section is a string quartet that performs rock and roll. I'm expecting some TS material and a few covers.

At Club Spaceland in LA, Greg Dulli will do a show with his new R&B project Uptown Lights on Saturday February 19. I have no idea what this is, but it's listed on the official Club Spaceland site.

2004    December 21    news

A new MP3 of the week (why do I keep calling it that, the song stays online for months in a row?) - this time it's a Dylanized version of That's Just How That Bird Sings by founding Twilight Singers member Harold "Happy" Chichester. An amazing performance for CD101 from December 19.

2004    December 20    news

Andrew Becker sent in a great review from the Twilight Singers show at Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona (Spain), December 15. Happy reading, y'all - and thanks a bunch, Andrew. Sounds like a great show.

Staggering Statistics, John Curley's band, will be releasing their debut CD one of these days now. The album was already available online on www.staggeringstatistics.com, but the band have decided to make it a proper CD, hopefully available through their site. And according to John: "Maybe there's a secret track [on it], too."
The band have already written 14 new songs for their next album, and will be playing at the Crush in Cincinnati as part of the Midpoint Music Festival on September 25. Go see 'em if you have the chance!

Rick McCollum's new band Moon Maan are playing the Minneapolis area on a regular basis. They have an album on the way, probably early 2005. Keep an eye on their site www.moonmaan.com for details.

October 13 - North Star, Philadelphia, PA
October 14 - Bowery Ballroom, New York, NY (CMJ fest.)

Two updates on the Twilight Singers discography (see discography - odds and ends): all info on "She Loves You", including US, UK, European and Australian release details. 2004    August 24    update

Twilight Singers tour is over. Check out the "MP3 of the week" for a live version of the new song Candy Cane Crawl, one of the five tracks the band already recorded for a new album. A world exclusive, to quote Greg.

The show in Utrecht was awesome, by the way. Thank you Greg, Jon, Bobby, Sully and Peter. They try to be back in Europe next March to promote their new album.

2004    August 18    update

Managed to find three more dates from the Whigs' tour in Holland, February 1991. Look for them down the concert archive. Thank you, Marike!

The Twilight Singers tour in Europe started tonight in London, scroll below for the full list of dates.

Mark Lanegan's album "Bubblegum", with Greg Dulli singing on "Metamphetamine Blues", entered the Dutch album top 50 this week, on 39. Way to go!

The Staggering Statistics, John Curley's new band, have a few dates as well, in the Cincinnati area. Check out their site for more info (go to lagniappe and find the link) and you'll have a chance to listen to their first album as well!

2004    August 10    news

"She loves you" has gone on presale at One Little Indians' online store www.onelittleshop.com this week. There's 30 second MP3 samples of each track available too. Here you can order the UK version of the covers album, that is released (and shipped) on September 6. But buying the album straight from the label, probably means more money for them and so indirectly for the band.

The OLI TS-site www.indian.co.uk/twilightsingers is another way to reach the shop, by the way.

All the dates for the upcoming European mini tour:

August 18 - Scala, London (UK) (sold out)
August 19 - Charlotte, Leicester (UK)
August 20 - Pukkelpop Fest, Hasselt (BE)
August 21 - Tivoli, Utrecht (NL)
August 22 - Molotow, Hamburg (D)

2004    July 9    news

Site exclusive: three songs from the "She Loves You" album. Enjoy. Go buy it. It's an amazing record.

2004    July 7    news

Twilight Singers in Europe: the first dates are out.

August 20: Pukkelpop festival, Hasselt (Belgium)
August 21: Tivoli, Utrecht (Holland) - tickets on sale this Saturday

The "She loves you" covers album will be released on August 24. Some highlights of the album will be made available very soon as "MP3 of the week".

2004    July 4    update

I have been out of the picture for a while, missed the second leg of the US tour, missed the updates on the "She loves you" album, due out August 24, the plans for a live DVD and the contribution of Greg Dulli to the next Afterhours album. Even skipped the online only Staggering Statistics album, when John Curley approved I could link it all to you.

Thank you, for all your sweet words.... I was not dead. I'll be running new stuff on the site again, hopefully very soon.

I am sorry for cutting down a lot of communications short. You know who you are, please contact me.

There may be some new shows in the trades section...

Thank you, Daniel Fishbein, for your tremendous effort. Some great stories, including how Greg beat the crap out of a guy with a chair for harassing a woman in a hotel bar.

Rob Norton has launched his Gutter Twins fan site on www.guttertwins.com, dedicated to this side project of Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan. Rob's site offers news on the project, a short solo discography on both artists and MP3 downloads.
